Error message “outlook has stopped responding MS working and will notify when problem is fixed”. I have been able to run a repair from my licensed home use disc. Lately Outlook is crashing daily and the repair doesn’t last. I have run some of the recommended diagnostics with no issues detected, I also download the OFFcat, but the results tell me I need to run. This thread is locked. I went to check window update history and 4 updated were installed concerning Office the day it started crashing.

It would crash after it was open for a couple of minutes. It appears KB is the culprit. I first uninstalled KB Uninstalled KB Then the next day started to crash again. The dam update was installed again. This is why I hate Windows 10 updates I have no control over what gets installed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Turned Off Windows 10 updated in services!!! Thanks for your feedback. It never crashes during use, only when it starts. I start Outlook with it disabled and then enable it for the duration but disable it again before closing Outlook. Of course, intermittent problems can give misleading results – it might simply be that whatever combination of circumstances causes it to fail have simply not been present during this period of good behaviour. I have two other computers. I have tried OffCat in the past but even though it is supposed to work with Office , attempting to use it causes it to report that it is only intended for newer Office versions.

Because of this, I do not really understand what OffCat could offer me given that Event viewer merely reports that the crash has occurred.

Isn’t it merely a long-winded way of accessing Event viewer records? OffCat v2. Thanks for encouraging me to give Offcat another try. There must have been something wrong with those particular Office updates so I uninstalled them then re-installed them [from the MS update catalog]. OffCat now gives me a clean bill of health so I will just have to wait a couple of days to see how Outlook behaves [what a pain intermittent faults are]. I will also install the new OffCat version on my other two computers – if OffCat gives them a clean bill of health straightaway then that would be consistent with those updates being the cause of the problem as the problem has not appeared on those other computers.

If the problem returns then my gut feeling is that I need to consider the add-ins next and then the Outlook profile. Well, removing KB appeared to fix the problem for about a week then started to crash again.

I then just removed MS Office altogether deleted all files and folders manually I then updated Office no issues for a couple of day’s and again for some reason started crashing again after a few minutes. I ran OffCat and it tells me that every time zone is wrong in the registry in all languages.
