You can try to run the Schedule Manager utility tool to remove all or specific scheduled backup tasks from the True Image application and then re-add the backups again along with reconfiguration of the task for the backups. This tool will do a beter job of removing task information from the Task Scripts and Database than that of manual deletion.
I seem to have the same problem Rob currently has. The problem started with , but I updated to I worked with Acronis tech support on this issue, and somewhere along the way consolidation started passing. Sure TI has lots of nice features but atually performing a backup is kind of important to me. Please also be aware that there are remote share limitations in Windows as well. You cannot have 2 sessions in Windows to the same remote device if using different authenticaiton to that device.
However, if all sessions ot the NAS use the same authentication credentials, you’re good to go and the bug will be resolved with the patched files until the next standard update comes along sometime this month we’re told. When I run a backup to either my NAS, a USB attached disk or a local disk, it runs for a while 90 minutes then fails with “Unable to create volume snapshot”. The disk I am trying to backup contains about GB of data. It has no problem backing up a disk of similar size to the same target volumes.
I got around the problem by disabling the Volume Shadow Copy service. But that creates a different problem — Windows needs that to create a Restore Point. You can verify free space on disk volumes by using Disk Management and in the top view looking at the Free space and 5 free columns.
This is not a question of how much space is available on the destination target disk where your bacvkup is stored but rather the amount of free space on the disk volume being backed up. Something has got badly broken here. I’ve been a user of Aconis for more than 5 years, always to the same NAS, and never had any problem in this area. Most definitely some kind of nasty software issue. This is definitely not a config issue my side – Acronis is failing to access the NAS due to some software issue.

So I suspect either a Windows Update has left Acronis no longer functional – don’t see any Acronis updates recently, so that does not seem likely either. Strongly recommend Acronis look into release notes for recent Windows 8. There are plenty of others using SMB shares without issue as well. However, there is indeed a bug if you have mapped drives in Windows and try to authenticate to an SMB share in Acronis – been discussed and noted in Steve’s note above.
