Data on both may degrade at rest and cause data corruption. It’s hard to know for sure if this is the cause, but if it is, it’s not something Acronis is meant to solve. Expecting flawless software and hardware is just a recipe for disaster.

Don’t know if the home office version offers validation on created backups, but the business version does. This helps to at least catch corruption when it happens.
